2 notorious drug smugglers booked in Sopore: Police | KNO

Srinagar, Jun 28 (KNO): Jammu and Kashmir Police in Sopore on Friday said to have booked two drug smugglers under PIT-NDPS Act after obtaining orders from the competent authority. The duo drug peddlers namely Nasir Ahmad Siraj son of Nazir Ahmad Siraj resident of Hanfia Colony Arampora Sopore and Mohammad Nadeem Mir son of Mohammad Mubarak Mir resident of Behrampora Rafiabad have been booked under PIT NDPS Act and lodged in Central Jail Kot-Balwal, Jammu, a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) reads. Pertinently, many cases are registered against these drug smugglers and they did not mend their way and are still involved in drug abuse trade by supplying drugs to the local youth of the Police District Sopore, police said. Meanwhile, general public appreciated the role played by the Police in taking action against drug smugglers. “J&K Police is committed to take strict actions against such criminals as per the law,” the statement reads—(KNO)
